AbstractAt the core of the Karlsruhe Open MEdiator archiTecture is a knowledge processing engine whose strengths include general non-monotonic reasoning, clean semantics, extensibility through annotations and other means, an efficient evaluation strategy and portable code. KOMET also includes translators, software components which connect individual knowledge sources to the mediator.
The KArlsruhe MEdiator Language is a declarative language which incorporates several strong concepts: multivalued logic and non-monotonicity with wellfounded semantics, extended GAP which enables reasoning on temporal and spatial circumstances and uncertainty, embedding of knowledge source specific terms, multiple sort (type) hierarchies.
