The principal goal of the IMPACT project is to develop both a theory as well as a software implementation that facilitates the creation, deployment, interaction, and collaborative aspects of software agents in a heterogeneous, distributed environment. IMPACT provides a set of servers (yellow pages, thesaurus, registration, type and interface) that facilitate agent interoperability in an application independent manner. It also provides an Agent Development Environment for creating, testing, and deploying agents.
